If you’ve just had LPG bottles delivered and your gas supplier has asked you to arrange a First Connection, we can help.

At JVS Gasfitting, we carry out compliance checks and connections for LPG setups across Auckland. Whether it’s for a new build, a switch to gas, or a recently installed appliance, we make sure everything is connected correctly, safely, and up to New Zealand standards.

What’s a First Connection?

A First Connection is more than just hooking up the bottles. Before LPG can be safely used, a certified gasfitter needs to:

• Inspect the gas system
• Check for compliance with NZ gas regulations
• Test the pipework and appliances for leaks and pressure issues
• And once everything is confirmed safe, connect the bottles to the system

✅ Ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 5601 gas standards
✅ Safe connection of your LPG bottles
✅ Optional gas certificate if required by your supplier

Note: A gas safety certificate is not always needed, but we can provide one at additional costs if your supplier requests it.

How Much Does a First Gas Bottle Connection Cost?

We charge a flat rate of $172.50* (incl. GST) to come out and carry out the required checks for your first LPG bottle connection.* Weekday rate.

This includes:

• A full compliance inspection of your gas installation
• Pressure testing and leak checks
• Safe connection of the bottles (if everything meets compliance)
• Clear explanation of your setup and any next steps

This is our minimum charge, even if we’re unable to connect the bottles on the day. This covers a vehicle charge and minimum hour labour.
